The Dexter Lawrence<\/a> trade could end up costing the Los Angeles Rams one of their top options in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

With the 2026 NFL Draft just days away, very little is still known about what the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> plan on doing in the first round at No. 13 overall. There\u2019s been very little consensus, and that\u2019s the way the Rams like it. However, the NFL\u2019s latest blockbuster trade could have cost them their top target.<\/p>\n

The NFL world got a sudden earthquake that shook the landscape on Saturday when the New York Giants<\/a> suddenly traded Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>. In the process, the Giants acquired the tenth overall pick. The trade gives the Giants two top-ten picks, both ahead of the Rams. <\/p>\n

Recent intel points to the Giants using one of those picks to snatch a prospect from the Rams.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles Rams\u2019 top target taken right out from under them?<\/p>\n

Shortly after the trade was announced, speculation began to build about what the Giants would do with those picks. A target began to crystalize according to numerous insiders: Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson.<\/p>\n

The report about the Giants being interested in Tyson backs up recent reports about Tyson\u2019s draft stock holding steady around the top-ten picks in the draft.<\/p>\n

Speculation began building about Tyson\u2019s draft stock due to his numerous injuries. A hamstring has nagged him all of this year, including during the draft process. He hurt his ankle in the spring of 2025 right after breaking his collarbone at the end of 2024. Additionally, he tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL in his left knee in 2022. <\/p>\n

However, a recent workout by Tyson has seemingly steadied his draft stock. Perhaps he was subject to prospect fatigue and pre-draft overthinking? Who knows.<\/p>\n

Regardless, Tyson has been a very frequent pick connected to the Los Angeles Rams throughout the draft process. The Giants\u2019 trade could suddenly put those plans into jeopardy, and force the Rams to look elsewhere.<\/p>\n
