It doesn\u2019t matter what league former Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson<\/a> plays in \u2014 he\u2019s got trade value everywhere.<\/p>\n Just 1 year after he was traded from the Cleveland Browns<\/a> to the Philadelphia Eagles, Thompson-Robinson was involved in a \u201cblockbuster trade\u201d in the UFL on Sunday when he was traded from the Orlando Storm to the Birmingham Stallions in exchange for quarterback Matt Corral<\/a> and defensive end Amani Bledsoe<\/a>.<\/p>\n Corral was a 3rd round pick by the Carolina Panthers<\/a> in the 2023 NFL draft<\/a>. Bledsoe played 5 seasons in the NFL<\/a> for 3 different teams from 2019 to 2023.<\/p>\n \u201cWE\u2019VE GOT A TRADE,\u201d the UFL wrote on its official X account<\/a> on Sunday. \u201cThe Birmingham Stallions are trading QB Matt Corral and DE Amani Bledsoe to the Orlando Storm for QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson.\u201d<\/p>\n Thompson-Robinson was waived as part of the Eagles\u2019 final roster cuts in August 2025.<\/p>\n Eagles Traded Former 1st Round Pick for DTR<\/p>\n The\u00a0Eagles<\/a> traded backup quarterback and former 1st round pick Kenny Pickett<\/a>\u00a0to the\u00a0Cleveland Browns<\/a> in exchange for Thompson-Robinson and a 2026 5th-round pick.<\/p>\n Thompson-Robinson couldn\u2019t overtake the momentum created by backup quarterback\u00a0Tanner McKee<\/a> at the end of the 2024 season.<\/p>\n \u201cThe\u00a0#Eagles\u00a0were likely going to cut\u00a0Dorian\u00a0Thompson\u2013Robinson\u00a0and\u00a0Kyle McCord<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0CBS Sports NFL Reporter Jeff Kerr<\/a>\u00a0wrote on his official X account. \u201cMcCord wasn\u2019t ready to be QB3 and neither showed enough to warrant using a roster spot on in camp. Then there is the\u00a0Tanner McKee<\/a>\u00a0finger injury. If\u00a0Jalen Hurts<\/a>\u00a0gets hurt, this team wasn\u2019t going to roll into Week 1 with Thompson-Robinson and McCord. They needed a proven backup that has starting experience (see\u00a0Sam Howell<\/a>). The QB room is Hurts, McKee, and Howell.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n DTR Looking for Another Chance in NFL<\/p>\n Thompson-Robinson made 48 starts in 5 seasons at UCLA and was a 2-time All-Pac-12 selection before the Browns<\/a> drafted him in the 5th round (No. 140 overall) in 2023.<\/p>\n In 5 starts over the last 2 seasons, Thompson-Robinson went 1-4 and didn\u2019t look like a competent\u00a0NFL<\/a> quarterback when he did get that chance \u2014 something he will have to shake off if he wants another chance in the league.<\/p>\n In those 5 starts, Thompson-Robinson threw for 880 yards, 1 touchdown, and a stunning 10 interceptions while completing just 52.6 percent of his passes. He did show some effectiveness running the ball, with 35 carries for 187 yards and no touchdowns. He also averaged 5.3 yards per carry.<\/p>\n In a strange twist, Thompson-Robinson\u2019s one win as a starter came against the\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>\u00a0in Week 11 of the 2023 season \u2026 with Pickett as the Steelers\u2019 starting quarterback.<\/p>\n Thompson-Robinson\u2019s age \u2014 he\u2019s only 26 years old \u2014 and experience should make him an attractive option as QB2 or QB3 for a wide swatch of teams if he can perform well in the UFL this season, which he hasn\u2019t really had the chance to do to this point.<\/p>\n Through the 1st 4 games with the Storm, the 6-foot-1, 206-pound Thompson-Robinson had served primarily as a backup to another former Pac-12 star in quarterback Jack Plummer<\/a>, who played for Cal in 2022 and was a backup quarterback for the Carolina Panthers in 2024.<\/p>\n \n\t\t\tTony Adame<\/a> covers the NFL for Heavy.com, with a focus on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos.
