The talk around the possibility subsided after about a week, with indications at this year’s Annual Meeting lending themselves toward the likely scenario of Rattler remaining in the Crescent City.

However, new intrigue has recently surfaced around the idea.

While sharing his notes on recent draft buzz, ESPN’s Adam Schefter named Rattler as one of the players that “could gain interest” during this year’s NFL Draft.

A team showing interest in Rattler makes sense. The 2026 quarterback draft class isn’t considered a strong one. The Saints just added a veteran with starting experience in free agency and are expected to welcome back former signal caller Hunter Dekkers when the spring season comes to an end.

Rattler has starting experience and, despite having just one win on his ledger for now, has shown a lot of promise and capability. A number of evaluators and players have expressed that Rattler deserves a shot at continuing as a starter in the league.

For all those reasons, however, the Saints are likely to want to keep him in their facility. It’s always a positive to have a quarterback with starting experience in your system on standby. That means it seems like it would take quite the offer, relative to Rattler’s fifth-round selection in 2024, to convince New Orleans to move away from the young quarterback.

Rattler started eight games in 2025, completing 67.7% of his passes for 1,586 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns and five interceptions with an 86.5 passer rating. He also ran 31 times for 167 rushing yards.

By Ross Jackson After the New Orleans Saints signed free agent quarterback Zach Wilson earlier this offseason, many…

[2076
7,896,55,2572,2571,6,397
0":"post-871242","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-orleans-saints","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-new-orleans","10":"tag-new-orleans-saints","11":"tag-neworleans","12":"tag-neworleanssaints","13":"tag-nfl","14":"tag-saints
["GET
