NFL insider Aaron Wilson reported Kevin O’Connell and the Minnesota Vikings have released defensive tackle Jaylon Hutchings.<\/p>\n
Days before the 2026 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings<\/a> are releasing a defensive tackle they signed to reserve contract in January \u2014 Jaylon Hutchings<\/a>.<\/p>\n NFL insider Aaron Wilson reported on X the Vikings cut Hutchings on Tuesday.<\/p>\n As Wilson indicated, most of Hutchings professional football success has come in the Canadian Football League. He also spent a brief time with the Chicago Bears<\/a> during 2024 training camp after becoming an undrafted free agent.<\/p>\n During the 2024 draft process, Hutchings received praise for some of his physical traits and natural instincts.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s very instinctive when it comes to countering and solid with overall hand usage,\u201d wrote NFL Draft Buzz<\/a>. \u201cFlashes enough quickness off the snap to threaten gaps at three-technique, especially when slanting.<\/p>\n College football writer Bruce Feldman included the defensive lineman on his annual \u201cFreak\u2019s List\u201d prior to Hutchings final college season.<\/p>\n \u201cA 6-0, 295-pound strong man who was once a nifty high school running back, now he\u2019s got a 500-pound bench, a 700-pound squat, but he has been clocked at 18 miles per hour,\u201d wrote Feldman<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\t\t\tDave Holcomb<\/a> is a sports reporter covering the NFL and MLB for Heavy.com, with a focus on the Pittsburgh Steelers and a variety of other NFL teams.
