As Josh Allen<\/a> heads into his ninth NFL<\/a> season, he heads into a year of arguably more change than he’s ever had in his career. The Bills have a new head coach in Joe Brady and completely revamped their coaching staff. But Allen doesn’t expect this to be any kind of rebuild year.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the team website this week<\/a>, Allen said that while his mindset has changed “a little bit,” he’s still excited for the year and believes he’ll be “the best version” of himself as both a player and a person in 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it definitely changes the mindset a little bit. I am very excited,\u201d Allen said, via the team\u2019s website. \u201cI do think this is going to be\u00a0the best version of myself\u00a0in all aspects in my professional career and my personal life… That \u2018want to win\u2019 will never change. The \u2018why I want to do it\u2019 has. So why I want to do it and to show my family, to show my daughter how hard you need to work in order to accomplish something so great. And as long as I play this game, that\u2019s going to be my mindset.\u201d<\/p>\n

State of the Buffalo Bills<\/p>\n

2025 might have been considered a good year for the Bills had they not gotten completely lapped by the New England Patriots<\/a> just one year after the Pats went 3-14. New England<\/a> managed to completely rebuild in a single year and return to the Super Bowl<\/a>, something that the Bills have not been able to achieve in more than 30 years, let alone with their MVP QB under center.<\/p>\n

The Bills beat the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> on the road in the playoffs before losing to the Denver Broncos<\/a> in the AFC Divisional Round. Head coach Sean McDermott was blamed for the loss and fired.<\/p>\n

Heading into 2026, the Bills have made a number of veteran pickups in free agency and trades, adding the likes of D.J. Moore<\/a>, Bradley Chubb<\/a>, CJ Gardner-Johnson, Lloyd Cushenberry<\/a> and Kyle Allen<\/a> for depth.<\/p>\n

The hope is that the Bills will be able to capitalize on these moves to inch themselves ahead of the Patriots and the AFC West<\/a>‘s best to secure the top seed in the AFC again.<\/p>\n

Josh Allen is still in his prime and the Bills can’t afford to waste even one of those years.<\/p>\n
