With the 2026 NFL Draft<\/a> quickly approaching, conversations have not slowed regarding who the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> will select with the 21st overall pick.<\/p>\n

Analysts and fans alike are interested to see what the team does with it, being the first year under Mike McCarthy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, as an offensive-minded head coach, people immediately guess that Pittsburgh<\/a> could be selecting No. 8 Aaron Rodgers\u2019<\/a> replacement at the quarterback<\/a> position.<\/p>\n

Uncertainty remains on whether Rodgers will return, and if McCarthy isn\u2019t sold on No. 18 Will Howard<\/a>, then it would be fair to assume Pittsburgh is looking for its new face of the franchise.<\/p>\n

Many names have been thrown around, including Carson Beck<\/a>, Drew Allar<\/a>, and, most notably, Ty Simpson<\/a> from the University of Alabama<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Throwing for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns<\/a> during his time in Alabama<\/a>, Simpson guided the team to a (10-3) record and went to the quarterfinals of the CFP Rose Bowl<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sticking with the offense, many wonder whether Pittsburgh should take a player to protect the quarterback up front.<\/p>\n

Especially if Rodgers were to return, powerhouses like Monroe Freeling<\/a> and Olaivavega Ioane<\/a> would become very useful.<\/p>\n

Or even Gennings Dunker<\/a> out of the University of Iowa<\/a>, who has been discussed about heading to Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Being compared to someone who could be his new teammate in No. 66, Mason McCormick<\/a> at the NFL Combine<\/a>, Dunker has the potential to be a major contributor for the team.<\/p>\n

Although some would argue the positions mentioned are ones in need, most have concluded Pittsburgh will be looking at the wide receiver<\/a> spot in the first round.<\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s Denzel Boston<\/a>, K.C. Concepcion<\/a>, or Makai Lemon<\/a>, numerous receivers have been brought up in recent months.<\/p>\n

Whoever it may be, they would be joining No. 4 D.K. Metcalf<\/a> and No. 11 Michael Pittman Jr.<\/a> to create one of the most imposing receiving corps<\/a> in the NFL.<\/p>\n

Taking Metcalf\u2019s age into account, this wide receiver could have a very quick rise up the depth chart.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, one thing is certain: Pittsburgh\u2019s 2026 NFL Draft class will be one of the team\u2019s most important in a long time.<\/p>\n
