Sure, the opportunity to select a rookie this early in the draft has not happened since 2016. But as seasoned NFL fans already understand, a pick is only as valuable as the rookie selected.

It’s to that point that legendary Rams quarterback Jim Everett reassures fans. While an expectation for general manager Les Snead to name a wide receiver in Round 1 is a safe bet, Everett wisely reminds fans that worthwhile wide receiver talent can be found throughout this draft:

Y’all realize there is good depth at WR beyond round 1?

2026 WRs possibly outside R1 with elite traits:
1. So let’s run down Everett’s list.

Jim Everett names 5 rookie receivers worth watching for Rams

Every fan can and does have their rookie favorites by this time of the NFL season. But quarterback Jim Everett offers his insight into the traits that succeed in the NFL, combined with his intimate knowledge of the LA Rams, to pinpoint the most promising rookie prospects. So who does he favor? Here are his fabulous five:

1. Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II (Day 2)

There is a glut of talented wide receivers in this draft, and Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell may suffer for it. Projected as early as Round 1, this 6-foot-4, 198-pound Volunteer is a headsy wide receiver who understands how to set up defensive backs throughout a game to maximize his production. His wingspan and height make him an excellent target. And he adds a deep threat once manned by Tutu Atwell.

2. North Dakota State wide receiver Bryce Lance (Day 2/3)

North Dakota State quarterback Cole Payton may owe his draft popularity to wide receiver Bryce Lance. At 6-foot-3 and 203 pounds, Lance possesses the type of freakish athleticism that qualifies him for virtually any professional sport. But the combination of his size and speed makes him a field-stretching juggernaut.

3. Georgia State wide receiver Ted Hurst (Day 2/3)

Another tall speedster, we named Hurst as a true deep threat in a recent article. In the void left after veteran Tutu Atwell’s departure, a multi-role receiver like Ted Hurst would be a huge upgrade.

4. Louisville wide receiver Chris Bell (Day 2)

Louisville’s Chris Bell could be mistaken for a tight end, power back, fullback, running back, or wide receiver. Standing 6-foot-2 and tipping the scales at 222 pounds, Bell brings a level of physicality to the wide receiver room that makes Puka Nacua seem like a 98-pound weakling.

Bell is such a versatile offensive weapon that head coach Sean McVay could fill several new chapters to the offensive playbook just for him. But Bell is so gifted in so many roles that he will need time and coaching to perfect how to optimize his talents.

5. Cincinnati wide receiver Jeff Caldwell (Day 3)

There is an unlimited upside to 6-foot-5, 216-pound wide receiver Jeff Caldwell out of Cincinnati. And it could be the daunting task of optimizing that huge size that allows Caldwell to drop to Day 3 in this draft. He is a red zone juggernaut, the type of receiver who simply needs to stand in the end zone and jump, catching footballs that no defensive back can touch. Better still, he is a true blocker and acts like a tight end on running plays.

Even as Rams rumors heat up over perceived draft prospects, fans can sit back and enjoy the multi-day draft event. Los Angeles needs depth at the position. Thankfully, the 2026 NFL Draft offers solid talent until the last player is selected.

As always, thanks for reading.

Add us as a preferred source on GoogleFollow

Despite the Los Angeles Rams’ success at Day 3 diamonds, there seems to be an unhealthy fixation among…

[2079
7,1014,58,2444,2611,6,424
0":"post-872210","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles-rams","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-los-angeles","10":"tag-los-angeles-rams","11":"tag-losangeles","12":"tag-losangelesrams","13":"tag-nfl","14":"tag-rams
["GET
