The Cleveland Browns<\/a> have begun their offseason workouts under new head coach Todd Monken, and for the most part, it’s gone smoothly.<\/p>\n

Granted, it is voluntary, but the idea is that as many players attend as possible, but one who hasn’t is star defensive end Myles Garrett.<\/p>\n

And for whatever reason, this has captured the attention of the NFL world, when in truth, it isn’t a big deal.<\/p>\n

Monken was asked about Garrett’s absence, and he delivered the perfect response.<\/p>\n

“It hasn’t been a lot. It’s fine,” Monken said via NFL.com<\/a>. “This is voluntary. We’re making a big deal out of this. We really are. It’s voluntary. We have other guys besides Myles that aren’t here. I wish they were here. They’ll be ready. We expect them to be ready. And we’ll be fired up when they’re here.”<\/p>\n

Browns not sweating Garrett no-show<\/p>\n

Honestly, I’m not entirely sure why Garrett not showing up to voluntary workouts has created such a storm. It isn’t like many expected him to anyway, right?<\/p>\n

I get it from the standpoint that you have a new coach, so get in the building to show your support for him as the franchise’s leader, but, as Monken stated, this\u00a0is people making a big deal out of nothing.<\/p>\n

Other players aren’t in the building, so there is nothing to be concerned with when it comes to Garrett, even though some suggest otherwise.<\/p>\n

If he doesn’t report to begin training camp, then the Browns have a problem. Until then? It’s as you were.<\/p>\n
