Unfortunately, there aren’t many obvious solutions for the Steelers’ issue. The free agent market is dried up, and this is a weak quarterback draft class. However, analyst Benjamin Solak floated the idea of the Steelers trading for Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis.

“Will Levis…” Solak wrote on Twitter recently when asked to name an under-the-radar player that could get traded during the draft. “Steelers like those big-bodied traditional passers, so I’m looking there.”

Steelers like those big-bodied traditional passers so I’m looking there. Panthers and Packers QB2 jobs are open too.

— Benjamin Solak (@BenjaminSolak) April 21, 2026

The Titans selected Levis in the second round of the 2023 draft, and he’s started 21 games for them in his first two seasons. He didn’t perform great in those appearances, though. Levis is 5-16 as a starter, throwing for 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions.

It likely wouldn’t cost much to acquire Levis. The Titans have their starter with Cam Ward, and they added Mitch Trubisky and Hendon Hooker this offseason. Therefore, they’ve got a full quarterback room, so they could part with Levis.

He would be reuniting with Mason Rudolph if he ends up in Pittsburgh, too, although that’s not necessarily a good thing. The two were together with the Titans in 2024, with Levis getting benched for Rudolph near the end of the year. The two of them led the Titans to a 3-14 season, which was bad enough to earn them the first overall pick.

Mike McCarthy has made it clear that he wants a quarterback who can handle the tough nature of the AFC North, and Levis has a solid frame. However, it might not make much sense for the Steelers to trade for him.

They already have a veteran option with Rudolph. While Levis is younger, he’s only got one year left on his deal, so he’s not a long-term option. Maybe the Steelers could check in on Levis if Rodgers retires. However, if they’re going to add to their quarterback room, then they’re probably better off looking on Day 2 or 3 of the draft. The options aren’t great, but they could have more potential than Levis.

The Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in need of a quarterback once again.
