The Seahawks<\/a> mounted football’s highest plateau in 2025, hoisting their second Lombardi Trophy in memorable fashion. They largely have the NFL draft to thank for their successes.<\/p>\n

While pieces like Sam Darnold<\/a>, Rashid Shaheed<\/a>, Leonard Williams<\/a> and DeMarcus Lawrence<\/a> were acquired via trade or free agency signing, Seattle<\/a>‘s infrastructure was constructed in the draft. From Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba<\/a> to Defensive Rookie of the Year finalist Nick Emmanwori<\/a>, young, drafted talent made the difference for the Seahawks during their trek to a title. They’ll hope to keep that tradition alive in the 2026 NFL draft — although they’ll have to be more judicious with their selections to do so.<\/p>\n

The 2026 offseason hasn’t been the easiest for Seattle brass to navigate. Riq Woolen<\/a> and Kenneth Walker<\/a> II are gone, wooed by big-money deals in Philadelphia<\/a> and Kansas City<\/a>, respectively. Perhaps the Seahawks can find ready-made replacements in the seven-round spectacle set to take over Pittsburgh<\/a> over the next few days.<\/p>\n

Cornerback:\u00a0Riq Woolen’s departure leaves a gaping hole in Seattle’s secondary. Devon Witherspoon<\/a> is an All-Pro-caliber cornerback who should continue to strike fear in opposition hurlers from his post. But don’t be surprised to see the Seahawks attempt to beef up the supporting cast around him in light of Woolen’s absence.<\/p>\n

Running back:\u00a0Walker is gone, jet-setting for Kansas City after capturing Super Bowl MVP honors. Zach Charbonnet<\/a>, meanwhile, is in recovery, having sustained a torn ACL during the playoffs. Seattle needs a tailback who can take on the lion’s share of carries as Charbonnet works his way back to full-health. Notre Dame’s Jadarian Prince and Arkansas’ Mike Washington Jr. are leading candidates to land in the Emerald City come the end of the second round.<\/p>\n
