While much of the football world is locked in on the 2026 NFL Draft, Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold <\/a>spent his time a little differently.<\/p>\n

Instead of studying mock drafts or speculating about Detroit\u2019s pick at No. 17, Arnold was out in the community, literally cleaning up the city.<\/p>\n

On Earth Day, Arnold teamed up with local organizations for a cleanup effort in Detroit\u2019s Midtown area, picking up trash, working alongside volunteers, and even serving ice cream to residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just something that is very meaningful to me because my high school maintenance man\/janitor, Mr. Biggs, just watching the way he worked effectively, just trying to make the school a better place, I feel like I can do the same thing in regards to the community,\u201d Arnold said via MLive.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"TerrionA personal connection to giving back<\/p>\n

Arnold\u2019s motivation goes deeper than just showing up.<\/p>\n

He shared a story from his childhood that helped shape his mindset toward responsibility and attention to detail.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy grandad is a roofer. So, when I was younger, he used to always assign me the task of picking up all the trash and making sure that the groundwork was complete before we pulled off from a job,\u201d Arnold explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne time, I had left a nail, and the nail ended up flattening one of the tires of the customer\u2019s car. It just kind of taught me the minute details of everything. It\u2019s nothing too small, it\u2019s nothing too large.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same attention to detail has carried over into his professional career.<\/p>\n

After an injury-plagued 2025 season, Arnold sounds like a player ready to make a major impact.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t felt this good in a long time,\u201d he said. \u201cJust playing through all the injuries\u2026 my whole thing is, man, they\u2019re in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old battled through multiple issues last season, including a torn shoulder that ultimately required surgery and landed him on injured reserve.<\/p>\n

Now healthy, Arnold believes a different version of himself is about to take the field.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy whole thing now is I\u2019m ready to play,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Playing through pain defined his mindset<\/p>\n

Arnold also shed light on just how much he was dealing with physically.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was really just trying to put the team before myself and just really trying to go out there and be the best teammate I could be,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you sign up to play with the Lions\u2026 you know at the end of the day, pain is temporary.\u201d<\/p>\n

That mentality fits exactly with the culture Detroit has built.<\/p>\n

Thoughts on the draft and new teammates<\/p>\n

Even with the draft approaching, Arnold made it clear he is not worried about who the Lions select.<\/p>\n

He is focused on what matters most\u2014fit and toughness.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoever they bring in \u2013 it\u2019s not only about pick, it\u2019s about fit,\u201d Arnold said. \u201cI know whoever they bring in, they\u2019re going to be ready to play\u2026 be tough, be embraced by the community, (and) at the same time be ready to go to war.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWhoever they pick\u2026 I\u2019m going to be ready to go to bat for them, and I hope they do the same for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bottom line<\/p>\n

Terrion Arnold is not just talking about being ready.<\/p>\n

He is showing it\u2014on the field, in the community, and in the locker room.<\/p>\n
