After six seasons leading one of Arkansas\u2019 premier high school football programs, Trey Schucker is stepping away from Arkadelphia to become the new head football coach at Sylvan Hills.<\/p>\n

Schucker announced his decision on Thursday, bringing an end to a successful tenure with the Badgers that included multiple deep postseason runs and a strong connection with the Arkadelphia community.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Schucker expressed gratitude for his time at Arkadelphia, calling it \u201can honor and a privilege\u201d to lead the program and its student-athletes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe memories I have made here will never be forgotten, and Arkadelphia will forever be a special place,\u201d Schucker said, also thanking the school district, administration, school board, Badger Foundation, parents and community for their support.<\/p>\n

Schucker\u2019s departure marks a significant transition for the Badgers, a program that has been among the state\u2019s most consistent contenders during his time on the sidelines.<\/p>\n

He said the decision to leave came after \u201cmuch thought and prayer,\u201d as he prepares to take over at Sylvan Hills, where he will look to build the Bears\u2019 program moving forward.<\/p>\n

Schucker and his family also extended well wishes to the Arkadelphia program, expressing confidence in its continued success.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family and I wish the Arkadelphia Badger football team and fans much success in the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
