Where did Jermod McCoy go to college?<\/p>\n

Jermod McCoy, a native of Whitehouse, Texas, attended Oregon State out of high school. Per 247Sports<\/a>, McCoy signed with Oregon State over offers that included Tulane \u2014 where he previously committed \u2014 Louisiana Tech, Air Force and more. After one season at Oregon State, McCoy transferred to Tennessee in 2024.<\/p>\n

What kind of prospect was Jermod McCoy in high school?<\/p>\n

Jermod McCoy was a three-sport athlete that competed in football, baseball and track and field at Whitehouse High School. He was a three-star recruit that ranked as high as the No. 91 cornerback in the class of 2023 and the No. 132 player in Texas, depending on the recruiting service.<\/p>\n

McCoy played both ways in high school, earning first-team all-league honors at cornerback and wide receiver. During his senior season he caught 57 passes for 784 yards and eight touchdowns, ran for 18 yards, made 28 tackles, grabbed two interceptions and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.<\/p>\n

McCoy primarily played wide receiver during his junior season, catching 40 passes for 464 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 17 yards and one touchdown with 67 passing yards.<\/p>\n

In track and field, McCoy won a pair of UIL 5A state titles in the long jump (23-10.5) and triple jump (50-7.75). He\u00a0qualified for the Texas 5A regionals in the triple jump during his junior season while also long jumping. McCoy was also an all-state baseball player<\/p>\n

What was Jermod McCoy’s record in college?<\/p>\n

Jermod McCoy finished 8-5 during his lone year at Oregon State, helping the Beavers to a Sun Bowl appearance. In his only active year with Tennessee, McCoy helped the Volunteers to a 10-3 record and a College Football Playoff berth. That’s a combined 18-8 record across two schools for McCoy. Interestingly both Oregon State (5-7, 2024) and Tennessee (8-5, 2025) finished with worse records in the years following McCoy’s departure.<\/p>\n
