Penn State is taking to the grass at Beaver Stadium in front of fans for the first time since the Nittany Lions defeated Nebraska on Senior Night, giving interim head coach Terry Smith his lone home win.<\/p>\n
But rather than Smith leading Penn State on the sidelines, it\u2019s Matt Campbell\u2019s turn to lead the Nittany Lions for the annual spring game, marking Campbell\u2019s first time coaching in front of the Happy Valley faithful.<\/p>\n
The Blue-White Game is set to look different this year, though, with a different name and format. Here\u2019s what to know ahead of Saturday\u2019s Blue-White Practice.<\/p>\n
Format<\/p>\n
Penn State recently posted the schedule for Blue-White Practice, and it begins with a team stretch when it kicks off at 1 p.m. before special teams and individual drills.<\/p>\n
Things get a little more interesting afterwards, with the Nittany Lions set to play some 7-on-7 and 11-on-11. It\u2019s unclear if any score will be kept, but fans should get some insight of where the depth chart currently stands at the end of spring practice.<\/p>\n
Gates open for the day at 11 a.m. while the parking lots open at 8 a.m. Team arrival is slated for 10:45 a.m.<\/p>\n
The practice will not be streamed or broadcasted.<\/p>\n

Forecast<\/p>\n
According to AccuWeather, Saturday will have a high 53 degrees with a real feel of 49 degrees during the afternoon. There are set to be 13 mph wind gusts and a cloud cover of 99%.<\/p>\n
Occasional rain and drizzle is in the forecast, with a 61% chance of participation. AccuWeather is projecting around 0.17 inches of rain.<\/p>\n
About Penn State<\/p>\n
Penn State will look very different than it did the last time fans were in Beaver Stadium, as 50 players from last year departed via the transfer portal and over 40 new faces came in, many of which followed Campbell from Iowa State.<\/p>\n
An almost entirely new quarterback room will be taking snaps, with projected starter Rocco Becht still limited after offseason surgeries in each of his shoulders. Becht will likely participate in 7-on-7 drills, but whether he plays during 11-on-11 is unclear.<\/p>\n
The running back room also looks vastly different, with Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen off to the NFL after being the Nittany Lions\u2019 starting running backs for the last four seasons. Carson Hansen, James Peoples and Quinton Martin Jr. are competing for the bulk of reps this year, but Hansen is seemingly the current front runner.<\/p>\n

Saturday will give fans their first look at projected starting receivers Brett Eskildsen and Chase Sowell, although they\u2019ll both likely be limited alongside Becht as they continue to recover from injury. Expect Koby Howard, Karon Brookins, Zay Robinson and Amarion Jackson to get significant burn in 11-on-11.<\/p>\n
As for the defense, the defensive backfield won\u2019t feature many new faces, although Iowa State transfer safety Marcus Neal Jr. will certainly be a standout alongside returning cornerbacks Daryus Dixson, Audavion Collins, Zion Tracy and Jahmir Joseph.<\/p>\n
Kooper Ebel, Cael Brezina and Caleb Bacon are the new additions to a very deep linebacker room with all three transferring over from Iowa State. They\u2019ll likely see the bulk of reps on Saturday alongside returnee Cam Smith.<\/p>\n
The offensive line will be missing shoe-in starter Anthony Donkoh, but former 5-star Malachi Goodman is set to make his Beaver Stadium debut alongside center Brock Riker, who transferred from Texas State this offseason and has received glowing remarks from Campbell and offensive line coach Ryan Clanton.<\/p>\n
Players likely out with injury on Saturday include Dom Rulli, Tony Rojas, Max Granville, Andrew Rappleyea, Gabe Burkle, Tyshon Huff, Jeremiah Cooper, Alex Tatsch and Alex Manske.<\/p>\n
