The Patriots<\/a> are scheduled to be on the clock twice during night two of the 2026 NFL Draft, holding picks at Nos. 63 and 95 in the second and third rounds.<\/p>\n

While many expect New England to focus on adding depth with its second-round selection, pick No. 95 could also lead to significant upgrades in its roster.<\/p>\n

USA Today’s Jacob Camenker published a second- and third-round mock<\/a> draft on Friday, and he has the Patriots selecting Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun at No. 95.<\/p>\n

“The Patriots could use outside cornerback depth behind Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis, the latter of whom will turn 30 during the 2026 NFL season. The 22-year-old Igbinosun is an experienced cornerback who made 53 starts at Ole Miss and Ohio State,” Camenker wrote.<\/p>\n

“The 6-2, 189-pound cornerback showed well in press coverage \u2013 minus his tendency to commit penalties \u2013 and has the physicality needed to also be a solid run defender.”<\/p>\n

If the Patriots manage to secure Igbinosun, he could learn from Davis for a season and then potentially take over the starting role in 2027. This would give Gonzalez a reliable partner for the next five years.<\/p>\n
