They have the 193rd pick, next, remaining.

In his draft guide, Dane Brugler of The Athletic says:

A two-year starter at Illinois (and four-year starter overall), Davis played left tackle in offensive coordinator Barry Lunney Jr.’s zone-based scheme. With few options out of high school, he fought his way up the ladder, initially in junior college and then at New Mexico and Illinois — a testament to his football passion and work ethic. He allowed a sack in just three of 25 starts for the Illini.

Davis is a good-sized blocker with enough athleticism for his size. He has adequate quickness in his setup and efficient movements on pulls and screens. He relies on his length and angles to keep pass rushers blocked, although he can be late with his punches and doesn’t have the reactive skills for sudden recoveries. Though he is more strong than powerful in the run game, he has the grip strength to pull/redirect defenders’ balance. Overall, Davis is a stocky, strong blocker with smooth movements and a basic understanding of how to create leverage using his length. With continued tweaks to his game, he could offer an NFL offense quality depth at either tackle or guard.

Giants round-by-round draft selections

Round 1 (No. 5) — Arvell Reese, OLB, Ohio State
Round 2 (No. 10 … via Cincinnati Bengals) — Francis Mauigoa, OL, Miami
Round 2 (No. 37) — Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee
Round 3 (No. 74 … via Cleveland Browns) — Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame
Round 6 (No. 186) — Bobby Jamison-Travis, DT, Auburn
Round 6 (No. 192) — JC Davis, OT, Illinois
Round 6 (No. 193) —

The New York Giants on Saturday selected offensive tackle JC Davis out of Illinois in Round 6 of…

[3
7,1208,6
post-874583","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nfl","tag-football","tag-new-york-giants-draft","tag-nfl
["GET
