NFL fans were left worried for Trey Lance’s future after an underwhelming video posted by his own team.<\/p>\n

Lance, 25, signed a one-year deal <\/a>with the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

The former first-round NFL Draft<\/a> pick is trying to resurrect his career with the AFC West team.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old is likely to be Justin Herbert’s backup in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

But a clip posted by the team<\/a> on X left fans concerned.<\/p>\n

The Chargers were trying to show off the skill set of their new running back Omarion Hampton.<\/p>\n

Hampton, 22, was taken with the 22nd overall pick in last month’s NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

A clip from the practice field showed him running a route out wide.<\/p>\n

He caught a deep pass thrown towards the sideline from a quarterback who fans identified as Lance.<\/p>\n

And although Hampton impressed, the pass from Lance didn’t go unnoticed.<\/p>\n

“What happened to Trey Lance,” one user wrote. “Underthrowing even in practice.”<\/p>\n

Another posted, “Trey lance is so bad my god.”<\/p>\n

A third said, “Man who threw that marshmallow.”<\/p>\n

And a fourth noted, “That was not 10 (Justin Herbert) throwing the ball. Terrible ball.”<\/p>\n

Lance has earned $34 million during his career so far.<\/p>\n

He was the No. 3 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.<\/a><\/p>\n

But Lance started just four games in two seasons for the team.<\/p>\n

He was named 49ers starter in 2022 but suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2.<\/p>\n

And Lance never regained the starting spot from Brock Purdy, falling to third on the depth chart behind Sam Darnold as well.<\/p>\n

The quarterback was traded to the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> in 2023 for a fourth-round pick.<\/p>\n

He was the team’s third-choice quarterback and never played all season.<\/p>\n

Lance had a chance to shine in 2024 after injury to starting QB Dak Prescott.<\/p>\n

He was backup to Cooper Rush and came onto the field four times.<\/p>\n
