The Atlanta Falcons<\/a> have had a busy offseason, recently making headlines by selecting Avieon Terrell, brother of star cornerback AJ Terrell<\/a>, with their first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Falcons are hoping to break through and make the playoffs this season for the first time in nearly a decade.<\/p>\n

Now, a new development has been announced<\/a> for the team\u2019s front office hierarchy.<\/p>\n

\u201c#Falcons have hired #Eagles<\/a> Senior Vice President Bryce Johnston as SVP of Football\u2014essentially their lead contract negotiator and cap strategist under GM Ian Cunningham,\u201d reported Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team on X, formerly Twitter, citing a report from Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.<\/p>\n

Johnston has since released a statement<\/a> thanking the Eagles, per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer on X.<\/p>\n

Cunningham was hired by the Falcons away from his assistant general manager position with the Chicago Bears<\/a>, and Atlanta also brought in franchise icon Matt Ryan<\/a> to be their new president of football.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Falcons also got an update on star rookie pass rusher James Pearce<\/a> Jr. last week, as it was announced that the star would be able to avoid trial if he agreed to participate in an intervention program following his domestic violence arrest, although there is no word yet on a potential suspension from the NFL for the incident.<\/p>\n

Overall, the Falcons have tried their best to add good pieces this offseason, having to do so without the luxury of a first-round pick, which they traded last year in order to move back into the first round and select Pearce, alongside fellow rookie Jalon Walker<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Falcons will hope for some good injury news on quarterback Michael Penix<\/a> Jr., having already brought in Tua Tagovailoa<\/a> as a potential fallback option in free agency.<\/p>\n

Atlanta\u2019s schedule for the 2026 season is slated to be released next month.<\/p>\n
