Now PSU won over a four-star talent from the grip of Kentucky and Virginia in Stanley Montgomery.<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Hayesfawcett3\/status\/2049945309589950546?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">confirmed his commitment<\/a> to Penn State Thursday afternoon via Hayes Fawcett of On3\/Rivals. Campbell and the coaching staff pull in the nation&#8217;s No. 9 overall defensive lineman in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Campbell visited Montgomery at Archbishop Ryan High in Philadelphia during January according to the national outlet. Then defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe won him over with his practice energy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoach Malloe has a very unique approach to teaching D-line, but it\u2019s really proving to be effective, which I like,\u201d Montgomery said to Blue and White Illustrated.<\/p>\n<p>He also liked Malloe&#8217;s character <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/penn-state-nittany-lions\/news\/penn-state-picks-up-new-commitment-stanley-montgomery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">when interacting with him<\/a> during the spring practice visit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen speaking to him one-on-one, he is very personable and he\u2019s the same way with his current players,\u201d Montgomery added.<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery rises as a massive local win for Campbell and PSU. He&#8217;s the Keystone State&#8217;s No. 5 overall prospect and a First-Team All-League standout. He&#8217;s not the lone four-star accepting Penn State&#8217;s offer either.<\/p>\n<p>Four-star tight end <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/ncaa-football\/penn-state-football-news-2027-4-star-te-nittany-lions-notre-dame\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cooper Terwilliger verbally chose the Nittany Lions<\/a> for the 2027 class, making his decision on April 13. Terwilliger even turned down Notre Dame for Campbell and the Lions. He brings a 6-foot-5, 235-pound athletic frame over to State College for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery now becomes the 13th verbal commitment for this current class being put together by the ex-Iowa State head coach.<\/p>\n<p>Penn State football is building the 2027 College Football Recruiting class after the Matt Campbell hire.
