With the 2026 NFL Draft in the rear-view mirror, the Atlanta Falcons<\/a> are looking for other ways to improve their roster before the players report for minicamp next month. While there’s no guarantee that the team will make any notable moves, nothing is off the table.<\/p>\n

Despite recent rumors of a possible Kyle Pitts<\/a> trade, the Falcons may look to keep the talented tight end in Atlanta following his impressive 2025 campaign. Nonetheless, there are other players on the market and you never know what GM Ian Cunningham has up his sleeve.<\/p>\n

In today’s Falcons recap, ESPN highlights two of the team’s draft steals, the rookies get their uniforms, and we look at two NFL trade proposals.<\/p>\n

Falcons listed as trade suitor for Browns QB Dillon Gabriel<\/p>\n

The Falcons are likely set at quarterback, but they were mentioned as a team to watch in a new trade block feature from Bleacher Report<\/a>. Atlanta and Tampa Bay were listed as potential landing spots for Cleveland Browns<\/a> QB Dillon<\/a> Gabriel.<\/p>\n

“While teams won’t be clamoring to add Gabriel as a potential starter, the 25-year-old should draw interest as a backup,” wrote B\/R’s<\/a> Kristopher Knox<\/a>. “While his athletic limitations were on display last season, he looked like a capable spot starter, posting an 80.8 passer rating in six starts. The Browns will probably take what they can get for Gabriel, who should interest teams that lack a young developmental backup.”<\/p>\n

There are obvious connections here between Gabriel and Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski, but it’s hard to see this one coming to fruition with Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa<\/a> on the roster.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report<\/a>‘s Kristopher Knox also suggested Atlanta as a potential landing spot for Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, suggesting the former top-five pick could be had for a fourth-round pick. The Falcons are in fairly good shape at the edge rusher spot, but adding someone like Thibodeaux couldn’t hurt.<\/p>\n

“According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Giants were in trade talks with the New Orleans Saints<\/a> before New Orleans<\/a> pivoted to Tyree Wilson<\/a>,” wrote Knox. “With the Saints potentially out of the picture, other teams should now engage with the Giants regarding Thibodeaux.”<\/p>\n

Two Falcons rookies make ESPN’s top 100 picks<\/p>\n

ESPN’s Matt Miller had high praise for Falcons rookies Avieon Terrell and linebacker Harold Perkins<\/a> Jr., listing both among his 100 best picks<\/a> from the 2026 NFL Draft class.<\/p>\n

“I love this pick for football and human reasons,” Miller said of Atlanta’s rookie cornerback. “Terrell was seen as a potential Round 1 player through much of his career, but he had a late slip due to\u00a0a hamstring injury\u00a0in the predraft process.”<\/p>\n

While Terrell was ranked as ESPN’s 16th-best selection, Perkins came in at No. 87 overall on the list. Miller praised the linebacker’s versatility.<\/p>\n

“He was moved around constantly, serving as a pass rusher, linebacker and even slot defender. Now he’ll have the opportunity to learn one position under defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, and the hope is that Atlanta unleashes his speed at off-ball linebacker. Perkins’ ceiling could be as an Azeez Al-Shaair-level player.”<\/p>\n

Falcons rookies debut team’s new uniforms<\/p>\n

The Falcons’ 2026 NFL Draft class finally got to try on the team’s uniforms. Atlanta’s social media team released the first images of Avieon Terrell, Zachariah Branch and the rest of the team’s rookie class on Thursday. Check out each below.<\/p>\n

The Falcons have also agreed to terms with 16 undrafted free agents<\/a>, but these signings have yet to be officially confirmed by the team.<\/p>\n
