The personal chef who accused former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs of assault and attempted strangulation<\/a> will return to the witness stand Tuesday as the trial enters its second day in Dedham District Court.<\/p>\n

Jamila Adams, Diggs\u2019 former personal chef, was the first witness called by prosecutors on Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She remains under cross-examination by the defense, which has already begun challenging her credibility and version of events.<\/p>\n

Diggs is accused of assaulting and attempting to strangle Adams inside his Dedham home in December. He has pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n

On the first day of testimony, Diggs walked quickly into court without speaking to reporters.<\/p>\n

Under questioning from prosecutors, Adams became emotional as she described the alleged assault, saying Diggs began choking her.<\/a> She testified that the incident at his Dedham home on Dec. 2, 2025,<\/a> followed a heated exchange of text messages between the two over payments she said she was owed.<\/p>\n

Defense attorneys have pushed back on Adams\u2019 account, arguing the assault never happened. They pointed out that Adams did not take photos of any alleged bruising or marks and failed to disclose to police that she and Diggs were involved in what they described as an intimate relationship.<\/p>\n

The defense also noted Adams was upset about being excluded from a trip to Miami and suggested that anger may have played a role in her allegations.<\/p>\n

Boston attorney Elyse Hershon, a legal analyst, said the defense aggressively highlighted inconsistencies in Adams\u2019 testimony.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to look at why she would lie about this, and the defense is bringing out information,\u201d Hershon said. \u201cShe deleted text messages before she went to the police and showed an angry exchange between her and Diggs. That doesn\u2019t look good. So something that doesn\u2019t look good is something the defense will use in their closing \u2014 to really say you can\u2019t believe her, you can\u2019t trust her, she lied, she just wanted money.\u201d<\/p>\n

The trial is expected to last another one to two days. Adams is scheduled to resume testimony first thing Tuesday morning as cross-examination continues.<\/p>\n
