The former No. 1 pick is a unique sports personality. His quirky quotes \u2014 including the infamous<\/a> \u201cnom, nom, nom. That\u2019s a W. Let\u2019s eat one.\u201d \u2014 inspire fans to tune in to find out what he might say next.<\/p>\n

This summer, Winston will take his talents to a new platform, serving as a correspondent for Fox Sports\u2019 coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fox Sports revealed Winston\u2019s gig on Wednesday, May 6, on X<\/a> with the caption \u201cPutting the W in World Cup!\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Winston has no plans to retire from the NFL. He is entering the second season of the two-year, $8 million deal<\/a> he signed with the New York Giants.<\/p>\n

But the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter has been preparing for life after football. He served as a correspondent for Fox Sports during the week before the Super Bowl in 2025 and appeared on Netflix\u2019s coverage of the 2026 MLB opener.<\/p>\n

As for his World Cup contribution, Winston shared a reveal video from Fox Sports on X and added<\/a>, \u201cCan\u2019t wait to be back with the @FoxSports team and be part of the biggest global sporting event in the World!\u201d<\/p>\n

The video features Winston telling his Giants teammates, Fox soccer analysts and his mom Loretta about being selected a World Cup correspondent. New York players Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, Malik Nabers, Brian Burns and Jermaine Eluemunor give their reactions along with Fox\u2019s Stu Holden and Alexi Lalas.<\/p>\n

Winston couldn\u2019t resist letting out a \u201cGoooooooooooooooal!\u201d call.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan you imagine seeing the World Cup through my eyes?\u201d Winston asked Skattebo.<\/p>\n

The Buccaneers selected Winston No. 1 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft. He won the Heisman Trophy and led Florida State to the national title in 2013, his redshirt freshman season.<\/p>\n

As a pro, Winston started 70 games during five seasons with Tampa Bay, going 28-42. He has primarily been a backup since then. In 2025, he started two games, both of which the Giants lost.<\/p>\n

Finally, the U.S., Canada and Mexico host the World Cup beginning June 10.
