Breece Hall<\/a>\u2019s long-term future with the New York Jets<\/a> was finalized Friday after the franchise agreed to a three-year, $45.75 million extension with the running back. The deal carries an annual average value of $15.25 million, officially making Hall the third-highest paid running back in the NFL<\/a>, per a post on X by NFL on Prime Video.<\/p>\n

The number puts him only behind<\/a> Saquon Barkley<\/a> ($20.6 million annually) and Christian McCaffrey<\/a> ($19 million), slightly surpassing Derrick Henry<\/a>\u2019s $15 million annual figure. The extension represents a major commitment from a Jets organization that had previously tagged Hall with the non-exclusive franchise tag in March, which would have paid him approximately $14.29 million for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

As a former second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Hall did not have the benefit of a fifth-year option typically afforded to first-round selections. Reports entering May suggested the two sides were not close to a deal, and Hall had been constantly linked to a move away.<\/p>\n

However, general manager Darren Mougey repeatedly maintained that retaining Hall remained the franchise\u2019s preference, and the Jets have ultimately followed through on that stance. During the 2025 season, the 24-year-old carried the Jets offense through a difficult 3-14 campaign, rushing for a career-high 1,065 yards and four touchdowns on 243 carries while adding another 350 receiving yards.<\/p>\n

Across 56 career games, he has accumulated 5,040 scrimmage yards and 27 total touchdowns on 943 offensive touches. Since recovering from the torn ACL that prematurely ended his rookie season in 2022, Hall has recorded at least 1,300 scrimmage yards in each of the last three seasons while appearing in at least 16 games every year during that span.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Hall also became the first Jets player since Chris Ivory<\/a> in 2015 to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in a season.<\/p>\n
