The New England Patriots opened their 2026 rookie minicamp on Friday, and part of the procedure was making this year\u2019s undrafted free agent signings official<\/a>. A total of 12 such players were added to the roster, and they promptly received their initial jersey numbers as well.<\/p>\n

With only 92 numbers available \u2014 led by Tom Brady<\/a>\u2019s No. 12, the franchise has retired eight numbers \u2014 there are a few double-issues now that the UDFAs have been added to the mix. Those are denoted by either a \u201cw\u201d or a \u201cb\u201d next to the number, signaling white (offense\/special teams) or blue (defense).<\/p>\n

There are five of those: No. 19 is now worn by both wide receiver Jimmy Kibble and last year\u2019s Mr. Irrelevant, cornerback Kobee Minor<\/a>; No. 23 is shared by wideout Nick DeGennaro and safety John Saunders Jr; No. 29 by cornerback Channing Canada and wideout Jeremiah Webb Jr; No. 36 by defensive back Kenneth Harris and kicker Andy Borregales<\/a>; No. 39 by running back Myles Montgomery and cornerback Brandon Crossley.<\/p>\n

Together with the team\u2019s nine-player draft class<\/a> and a deep group of tryouts<\/a>, the Patriots\u2019 undrafted free agents will participate in rookie minicamp between Friday, May 8, and Sunday, May 10.
