Still, Scourton has a chance to thrive with a Carolina defensive line that has slowly become one of the better units in the league.

Financially, Scourton’s second-round money doesn’t match what he could have earned as a top-10 selection, but, still, his first contract is nothing to scoff at. According to Spotrac, Scourton is expected to sign a four-year deal worth over $8.6 million, and containing a signing bonus of $2,899,504 million. Compared to his 2024 Aggie teammates, Shemar Stewart’s $10,416,460 million signing bonus is obviously advantageous, and slightly higher than Shemar Turner’s $1,887,599 million bonus.

Carolina’s defensive depth chart currently shows Scourton behind Jadavian Clowney as backup strong-side linebacker which will likely be the case going into training camp. Scourton is a future starter, but it will take some time to adjust at the next level. During his final collegiate season, Scourton recorded 37 tackles and five sacks.

Contact/Follow us @AggiesWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Texas A&M news, notes and opinions. Follow Cameron on X: @CameronOhnysty.

Texas A&M saw three players selected in the first two rounds of the 2025 NFL draft, led by…

[2075
204,80,1600,3689,247,265,2343,374,228,1603,235,260,2567,692,391,227,256,318,339,1965,19,3690,7,3688,248,267,88,6,1967,245,537,236,530,1964,1602,1610,9,266,678,3691,51,2347,1604
0":"post-8871","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-carolina-panthers","8":"tag-204","9":"tag-2025-nfl-draft","10":"tag-aggies","11":"tag-ai","12":"tag-american","13":"tag-american-football","14":"tag-au0026m","15":"tag-bears","16":"tag-bengals","17":"tag-breaking","18":"tag-carolina","19":"tag-carolina-panthers","20":"tag-carolinapanthers","21":"tag-chicago","22":"tag-chicago-bears","23":"tag-cincinnati","24":"tag-cincinnati-bengals","25":"tag-college","26":"tag-college-sports","27":"tag-combine","28":"tag-draft","29":"tag-enabled","30":"tag-football","31":"tag-highlights","32":"tag-national","33":"tag-national-sports","34":"tag-news","35":"tag-nfl","36":"tag-nfl-scouting-combine","37":"tag-overall","38":"tag-overall-positive","39":"tag-panthers","40":"tag-positive","41":"tag-scouting","42":"tag-smg","43":"tag-smg-breaking-wire","44":"tag-sports","45":"tag-sports-news","46":"tag-story","47":"tag-story-highlights-ai-enabled","48":"tag-texas","49":"tag-texas-au0026m-aggies-football","50":"tag-wire
["GET
