The Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> have some positive momentum building this offseason.<\/p>\n

The team has a new head coach in Klint Kubiak and a new quarterback in Fernando Mendoza. Also, star edge rusher Maxx Crosby is still on the team after being involved in trade rumors for months.<\/p>\n

As a result, there are definitely some things to be optimistic about. However, the wide receiver room is definitely not one of those things. In fact, the Raiders<\/a> might actually have the worst receiver group in the league.<\/p>\n

If the season started tomorrow, Tre Tucker, Jack Bech, and Jalen Nailor would be the top receivers. That’s not exactly exciting, and if Mendoza is going to reach his full potential, he’s going to need better weapons.<\/p>\n

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report<\/a> recently suggested that the Raiders should trade for Joshua Palmer of the Buffalo Bills<\/a> to help out the room. Palmer signed a three-year deal with the Bills<\/a> ahead of the 2025 season, but his debut with the team didn’t go as planned.<\/p>\n

Palmer suffered multiple injuries and only played in 12 games, catching 22 passes for 303 yards and no touchdowns. As a result, the Bills could be willing to move on from the veteran, and the Raiders could assume Palmer would regain his prior form in a different setting.<\/p>\n

Regarding this suggestion, Knox offered the following:<\/p>\n

Palmer had a few bright moments in the Bills’ offense last season, but he wasn’t the dependable complementary receiver he had previously been for the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a>. He produced a career-low 303 receiving yards, though it’s worth noting that he was also limited to 12 games.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old battled an ankle injury for much of the season and was eventually placed on injured reserve.<\/p>\n

A.J. Brown and Brandon Aiyuk may both have to be dealt before Palmer draws considerable interest, but he’ll be a solid option for receiver-needy teams once the dust settles.<\/p>\n

As Knox mentioned, Palmer had a few bright spots, but likely wasn’t the Bills expected. The Bills also added veteran D.J. Moore to the room this offseason, so the writing could be on the wall for Palmer.<\/p>\n

A.J. Brown and Brandon Aiyuk are definitely the more popular receiver targets, but Palmer would likely be cheaper and would definitely come with less baggage.<\/p>\n

While 2025 was a down year, Palmer has been solid in the past. In 2022, with the Los Angeles Chargers, Palmer caught a career-high 72 passes for 769 yards and three touchdowns. The receiver then had at least 580 yards in both 2023 and 2024, so he’s been consistent outside of 2025.<\/p>\n

In Vegas, Palmer could legitimately be the No. 1 receiving option. It would be his best chance to prove he can be a top option in this league and would give Mendoza another reliable veteran.<\/p>\n
