That’s generally harder than tackle-to-guard situations. I’d say the only thing that changes is, it’s a hair faster at guard and there’s a hair more space when you’re out at tackle, and that’s about the extent of the difference.”

It’s common nowadays for offensive tackles to move inside to guard, but not usually those who are Proctor’s size — 6 feet 7, 352 pounds.

“I think Kadyn, besides the fact how big he is, his athletic skill set, when you see how he can move and how he bends, that’s really what you look at,” offensive line coach Zach Yenser said. “Can he (adjust), and again, I think he can, through the whole draft process, I think he can play tackle in this league.

“I think he fits us better and we need him at guard, and I think he’s going to be a really good guard for us.”

Proctor’s size is still the feature that stands out most to coaches.

“He’s absolutely massive,” Slowik said. “He might be one of the biggest individuals I’ve ever seen in my life. His legs are bigger than me, but he moves like he’s 290 or 300 (pounds). He’s a unique blend of size and speed and movement ability. He’s got great feet.

“It’s really been fun just to, even in two days, see him out working with the vets, see what he can do as far as movement work, see how he’s kind of jelling with the other guys up there.”

Without Waddle

Sullivan parting ways with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill this offseason were foregone conclusions from the start, but then the Dolphins traded wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos for their first- and third-round picks. The top selection among the two later turned into San Diego State cornerback, after a trade up three spots.

“Having Jalen Waddle here was awesome,” said Slowik, who was senior passing game coordinator last season before being promoted. “I enjoyed working with him. He was great to have, but I’m really focused on who we have here now. I wish him the best. I think he’s going to tear it up in Denver, but I’m really locked in on who’s on our current roster.”

The deal also occurred after new passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo, who was Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator last season, was hired. It creates an early challenge in immediately putting together a successful passing attack for new quarterback Malik Willis.

“Coach (Jeff Hafley) does a good job of just kind of keeping it transparent with us so we know kind of where we’re at with the roster,” Patullo said. “That’s kind of what it was, and I know Sully’s doing the best he can to give us everyone we can have personnel-wise to be successful. (Waddle) is a really good player, would’ve loved to work with him, but we’ll see how he does in Denver.”

The Waddle move also creates opportunities for development between free-agent signings in Tutu Atwell and Jalen Tolbert and young receivers Malik Washington, Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, Kevin Coleman Jr. and Theo Wease Jr.

And Miami can incorporate dynamic running back De’Von Achane, who had a team-leading 67 receptions last season, into the pass game.

“From afar, just watching him when I was in Philly … what a dynamic player he is,” Patullo said. “There were so many times where we put tape on and we were playing an opponent that the Dolphins just played, and you watched all the different things he did, whether he lined up as a receiver, a true running back, whatever it may be. He’s so dynamic. That brings so much to the offense, really stresses a defense. Because he’s not just playing running back.

Achane has been away from team facilities during offseason workouts as he and his agent negotiate a contract extension, but Patullo seemed to indicate Achane may also be dealing with a minor injury of some sort.

“It’s going to be really exciting to get him out there once he’s healthy and ready to roll,” Patullo said, “but he’s definitely a big-time weapon.”

— The Dolphins placed undrafted rookie running back Le’Veon Moss on the reserve/retired list Tuesday, four days after he signed with the team ahead of rookie minicamp Friday.

MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins offensive coaches are confident Kadyn Proctor, the first-round pick from Alabama who spent…

[2049
217,7,19341,216,251,2087,6
post-890050","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-miami-dolphins","tag-dolphins","tag-football","tag-kadyn-proctor","tag-miami","tag-miami-dolphins","tag-miamidolphins","tag-nfl
["GET
