A school official reported that season-ticket sales stood at 7,162 this week. Kenney noted that number is about 1,500 ahead of last year\u2019s total at this time, and the Aztecs \u201ccould approach 10,000 season-ticket sales if the pace is similar to last year over the same time period.\u201d The Aztecs\u2019 \u201cgoal this year was to reach a 90% renewal rate,\u201d and they are \u201cclose,\u201d with renewals at 87% (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandiegouniontribune.com\/2026\/05\/13\/aztecs-football-season-ticket-sales-significantly-ahead-of-last-years-pace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 5\/13<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-colleges \">DRIVING TO THE BASKET: In San Diego, Mark Zeigler reported that basketball season tickets \u201care going up\u201d as the school sent out renewal forms Wednesday with an \u201cacross-the-board 7.5% increase\u201d following what many fans consider \u201cone of the most disappointing seasons in years.\u201d The basketball team has cultivated a \u201cmore loyal and robust fan base\u201d than the football program, having reached 12 of the past 16 NCAA Tournaments.
