NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Saints are preparing for their 60th season of football in 2026-27, with Who Dats across the city feeling the excitement months ahead of the season opener.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you were born in the city, you\u2019re going to be a fan,\u201d New Orleans native Shane Petty said.<\/p>\n
The team is not just celebrating six decades in the city. It will also have a prime-time game this year after missing out on any signature slots last season<\/a>.<\/p>\n RELATED: Saints left off primetime slate for first time in 25 years<\/a><\/p>\n The Saints will host the Atlanta Falcons for the Week 4 \u201cMonday Night Football\u201d game, which also will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Saints-Falcons game that officially reopened the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a huge rivalry. It\u2019s a good game as long as they win,\u201d Saints fan Ray Cornelius said.<\/p>\n Who Dat fan Eric Jones hopes there will be a big celebration both inside and outside the stadium so as many people as possible can enjoy the day.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s going to be packed. We ought to do a parade to celebrate that,\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n Another milestone the Saints hope to commemorate is 21 straight years of sold-out season tickets. The streak started in 2006, when quarterback Drew Brees joined the team.<\/p>\n Among the tens of thousands of fans is Kyle Christiansen.<\/p>\n \u201cOh yea, I\u2019m a season ticket holder. I\u2019ll be in the dome rocking man,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Christiansen has been a fan since the season-ticket-holder streak started, and with quarterback Tyler Shough leading the team this year, he says now is the time to lock in a ticket plan.<\/p>\n \u201cGet in the dome man. Get in there. Now is the chance. You\u2019re not going to have a chance in a couple of years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The New Orleans Saints have season tickets available for the upcoming season.
