The Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> just learned their schedule this week, and it\u2019s going to be an eventful season. They\u2019re going to be featured in a half-dozen prime time games, and Jesse Newell of The Athletic<\/a> provided a rundown of some of the the highlights that\u2019s well worth a look.<\/p>\n

Must-Watch Game<\/p>\n

Surprisingly, it\u2019s not the Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos<\/a>, although maybe it\u2019s not actually that surprising given that the Denver Post has already labeled that one the \u201cRehab Bowl\u201d because of the status of the two quarterbacks.<\/p>\n

Instead, Newell\u2019s choice is the Week 12 game on Thanksgiving night against the Buffalo Bills<\/a>. It\u2019s a good selection given some of the drama the Patrick Mahomes<\/a> vs. Josh Allen<\/a> quarterback matchup should produce, and Mahomes should be completely healthy by then.<\/p>\n

Toughest Stretch<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot of competition if you look at the schedule as a whole, but for the Chiefs he chose the Bills game, followed by two more road games against the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> and Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>. The Broncos<\/a> would argue pretty hard against this being the toughest schedule stretch in the league, especially since the Bengals haven\u2019t been all that for the last couple of years. After that, though, the Chiefs get the New England Patriots<\/a> and San Francisco 49ers<\/a> at home, so expanding this to five games makes it even tougher.<\/p>\n

The Game The Chiefs Can\u2019t Afford To Lose<\/p>\n

Another interesting choice here by selecting the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> in Week 6, as Newell makes the argument that the Chiefs can\u2019t afford to get swept by either the Broncos or Chargers and hope to win the division. The Chiefs did get swept by the Chargers last year, and the first loss helped turn the rest of their season into an uphill battle.<\/p>\n

Best Offense The Chiefs Will Face<\/p>\n

Newell chose the game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13, and it\u2019s hard to argue with that selection. The caveat is that the health of quarterback Matthew Stafford<\/a> is a key element of this, so Stafford\u2019s age and fragility have to be factored in. He\u2019s been able to make it to the finish line, but not by much.<\/p>\n

Best Defense The Chiefs Will Face<\/p>\n

That would be the Seattle Seahawks<\/a> in Week 7, although Broncos fans would argue hard against this one, too.
