The New York Giants<\/a> are hiring John Ritcher to join their personnel department, potentially as co-director of college scouting, reports NFL insider Aaron Wilson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The move represents the franchise’s first front-office addition since the conclusion of the 2026 NFL draft.<\/p>\n

Ritcher spent the past eight seasons with the Houston Texans<\/a>, rising to co-director of college scouting after serving as a national scout and Southeast area scout. Before Houston, he worked six seasons in the Arizona Cardinals<\/a>\u2019 scouting department.<\/p>\n

Earlier in his career, Ritcher was a scouting assistant with the Miami Dolphins<\/a> in 2011, overlapping with Giants general manager Joe Schoen and senior vice president of football operations Dawn Aponte.<\/p>\n

The Giants have not previously employed a dedicated director of college scouting under Schoen, with assistant general manager Dennis Hickey informally handling those duties. Ritcher’s appointment strengthens the team\u2019s evaluation of incoming talent.<\/p>\n

Ritcher’s background also includes coaching tight ends and serving as a strength and conditioning coach at Florida State, as well as playing fullback and linebacker in the Arena Football League and tight end at North Carolina State.<\/p>\n
