Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> quarterback Joe Burrow<\/a> has stressed he likes what he sees from his team this offseason.<\/p>\n

Burrow has made that clear across a number of recent appearances around the country during the offseason.<\/p>\n

But his latest bit of commentary comes straight from Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, where he was in town working out with teammates.<\/p>\n

While chatting about the team\u2019s big offseason moves, Burrow said he\u2019s especially happy about the big defensive splashes, as well as touching on the arrival of the rookies.<\/p>\n

“We made a big trade for a big-time player. Signed a free agent top safety on the market, And, other additions,\u201d Burrow said, according to Geoff Hobson<\/a> of Bengals<\/a>.com. \u201cWe’ll see how the rookies end up \u2026 But first impressions, we’ve got guys that care about the game, care about their job, and want to be great. When you have young guys like that and veterans like we do, it’s a recipe for success.”<\/p>\n

Burrow added this about leadership: “You can feel the vibe and the leadership has changed in the locker room a little bit. It’s exciting for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talk about a difference one year can make.<\/p>\n

The Bengals upgraded the defense in free agency with Bryan Cook<\/a> at safety, hope Boye Mafe<\/a> can take that Trey Hendrickson<\/a> spot and upgraded the line rotation with Jonathan Allen<\/a>. Then, they turned around and traded the 10th pick for elite defensive lineman Dexter<\/a> Lawrence.<\/p>\n

Every move came with a dose of serious veteran leadership, too. And if nothing else, it\u2019s nice to hear that Burrow\u2019s first impression of the rookies is favorable.<\/p>\n

Not totally unexpected commentary from Burrow. But welcome nonetheless, given how important it was for the\u00a0 Bengals to show a pulse when it came to making big moves to course-correct the defense in a hurry.<\/p>\n
