While the Bengals have secured Ja&#8217;Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to long-term deals, Hendrickson&#8217;s future in Cincinnati remains hanging in the air.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of <a data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/45362772\/nfl-bengals-trey-hendrickson-contract-holdout\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:ESPN reported;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">ESPN reported<\/a> that several teams have expressed interest in the 30-year-old amid the contractual negotiations. However, two NFC executives noted that the Bengals will find a way to keep Hendrickson around after a spectacular 2024 season.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I can&#8217;t see how they can let a great player go for a draft pick, given the pressure to win now,&#8221; an NFC executive said. Another said, &#8220;I still think they can come to a compromise, getting him above that $30-million threshold while covering themselves.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The age [30] is something that must be a factor for them,&#8221; the executive added. ESPN&#8217;s Ben Baby noted that Hendrickson is reportedly &#8220;extremely dug in&#8221; on missing games or the entire season if he does not land a new contract.<\/p>\n<p>Hendrickson is yet to participate in any of the Bengals&#8217; voluntary workouts this offseason amid the tug of war with the front office. His absence comes despite being <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nfl\/article\/bengals-de-trey-hendrickson-reports-to-offseason-training-says-he-wont-play-on-current-deal-165413763.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:spotted at the team facility;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">spotted at the team facility<\/a> in mid-May.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>With mandatory minicamp running from June 10-12 in Cincinnati, Hendrickson could get fined if he no-shows the three-day preparation for the season. According to the NFL&#8217;s current <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/overthecap.com\/collective-bargaining-agreement\/article\/42#google_vignette\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Collective Bargaining Agreement;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Collective Bargaining Agreement<\/a>, a player can be fined $16,953 for the first missed day, $33,908 for the second day and $50,855 for the third day with unexcused absences.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nfl\/article\/trey-hendrickson-expresses-frustration-with-bengals-over-contract-stalemate-163449923.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:previous statement;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previous statement<\/a> to ESPN, Hendrickson said that &#8220;no communication has taken place between my camp and the organization post-draft.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The offers prior to the draft did not reflect the vision we shared and were promised last offseason if I continued to play at a high level. Coaches are aware of these past conversations. Rather than using collaboration to get us to a point to bring me home to the team, THEY are no longer communicating.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have been eagerly awaiting a resolution of this situation, but that\u2019s hard to do when there is no discussion and an evident lack of interest in reaching mutual goals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Hendrickson is heading into the final year of his contract and is set to make $15.8 million in base salary according to <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/overthecap.com\/player\/trey-hendrickson\/5689\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Over The Cap;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Over The Cap<\/a>. This comes after a career-best season in which he recorded 33 tackles and an NFL-leading 17.5 sacks.<\/p>\n<p>After being drafted by the Saints and spending four seasons in New Orleans, Hendrickson arrived in Cincinnati and <a data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HendTr00.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:earned Pro Bowl selections;cpos:6;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">earned Pro Bowl selections<\/a> in each of the past four seasons.
