The Brian Flores lawsuit against the NFL<\/a> made headlines again this week.<\/p>\n

Flores’ legal team has served subpoenas to “25 NFL teams and served more than 1,000 discovery requests in an attempt to obtain leaguewide hiring records and communications related to discrimination claims,” according to a report from ESPN’s Kris Rhim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Flores originally filed his lawsuit in 2022,\u00a0accusing the NFL of racism in hiring<\/a>.\u00a0In addition to the NFL, the lawsuit also named the Denver Broncos<\/a>, New York Giants<\/a>, Houston Texans<\/a> and Miami Dolphins<\/a>. Flores accused Denver of interviewing him for their head coach opening in 2021 merely to check a box to satisfy the NFL’s Rooney Rule. The Broncos<\/a> denied those allegations in 2022, calling them “blatantly false<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Now, after Flores’ team’s attempt to acquire hiring records, Denver, New York and Houston have argued that the requests are “punishingly overboard,” according to Rhim.<\/p>\n

Despite the ongoing lawsuit, the\u00a0Broncos\u00a0put in a request<\/a>\u00a0to interview Flores for their defensive coordinator position in 2023.\u00a0He ended up joining the Minnesota Vikings<\/a> instead, and Denver hired Vance Joseph.<\/p>\n
