I have not included cap hits below $1.5m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The Commanders currently have 44 defensive players, 43 offensive players and 4 special teams players.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Please note that assigned positions are my own personal opinions; they do not necessarily represent the thinking of Washington\u2019s coaches or front office, nor are they necessarily consistent with fan consensus, or the thoughts of other writers on Hogs Haven. Finally, when it comes to backup players, I don\u2019t put much effort into making sure that they are on the right or left or behind the specific player that they backup. I have, for example, 12 positions on offense and 13 on defense. Along with a new defensive coordinator and an expected shift to more 3-man fronts, the Commanders have substantially re-tooled the defensive line and edge positions. The offseason conditioning program for veterans began on April 20th and rookie minicamp took place a little a few weeks ago. As mentioned above, the first Organized Team Activities (OTAs) are scheduled for this week.
