Appearing on Get Up Monday morning, Graziano called it an overreaction that the Steelers will be in AFC North title contention again because Rodgers is back.

“Of course it’s an overreaction. They won it [AFC North] on a missed field goal in the last game last year. Aaron Rodgers comes back at 42 years old. Is he gonna play every game?” Graziano said of the Steelers. “He missed one last year, but that’s pretty good. Is he gonna play 16 games again? I think it’s a lot to ask him at this point in his career.

“I just think they’re gonna get a pretty tough challenge this year.”

Yes, the Steelers won the AFC North title last year on a missed field goal from Baltimore kicker Tyler Loop as time expired at Acrisure Stadium. That came after Rodgers led the Steelers to a go-ahead touchdown late in the game on a great throw to Calvin Austin III, who cooked cornerback Chidobe Awuzie with a great route (which was also named the best route of the season).

There was some luck there with Loop’s missed field goal, and it came after the Steelers blew a chance to win the division a week prior on the road against the Cleveland Browns. But the Steelers put themselves in a position to win the division, taking a late lead in the winner-take-all game.

They deserve credit for that.

Now, they did flame out of the playoffs with a blowout loss to the Houston Texans at Acrisure Stadium, ending a promising season in ugly fashion. That led to significant changes in the offseason. Will those changes make them better? That remains to be seen.

But they can’t be ruled out for a division title, even with the Cincinnati Bengals improving within the division and the Baltimore Ravens still being a deep, talented team with a two-time MVP at quarterback. Is Rodgers the rising tide that lifts all boats for the Steelers again? That seems very possible.

Will it be enough to win a tough division? Time will tell. But writing them off as quickly as Graziano did is a mistake, even without Mike Tomlin at the helm.

[2055
1586,4153,12,7,8034,6,520,57,2360,426
post-900948","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-pittsburgh-steelers","tag-aaron-rodgers","tag-dan-graziano","tag-espn","tag-football","tag-get-up","tag-nfl","tag-pittsburgh","tag-pittsburgh-steelers","tag-pittsburghsteelers","tag-steelers
["GET
