The New York Giants<\/a> could be looking to sign a former Washington Commanders<\/a> part-time starter. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Giants worked out defensive tackle Eddie Goldman<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Goldman, 32, spent last season with the Commanders<\/a>, appearing in 13 games, making six starts. Goldman finished with 26 tackles, including four for loss and one quarterback hit. He was a part of a Washington defensive line that struggled and dealt with numerous injuries, including Goldman, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve in December after a Week 15 concussion against the Giants.<\/p>\n

Goldman entered the NFL as a second-round pick of the Chicago Bears<\/a> out of Florida State. He spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Bears, starting 73 games for Chicago during that time. He opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but returned in 2021. Goldman surprisingly retired after the 2021 season, sitting out two years before returning in 2024 with the Atlanta Falcons.<\/p>\n

The Giants need help along the defensive line after trading star tackle Dexter Lawrence<\/a> last month for a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and losing Roy Robertson-Harris<\/a> for the season last week in OTAs.<\/p>\n
