The relationship between the San Francisco 49ers<\/a> and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk<\/a> unsalvageable at this point after the team voided the guaranteed money left on Aiyuk’s contract following the receiver’s failure to cooperate with the team’s plan.<\/p>\n

Since then, San Francisco<\/a> has made it clear that Aiyuk won’t play another snap for the 49ers<\/a>. And while, the Washington Commanders<\/a> are the rumored landing spot for Aiyuk, he’s still on the 49ers’ roster as organized team activities begin.<\/p>\n

While we wait to see where Aiyuk goes, Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport put together a possible framework<\/a> for a trade that would send the wideout to Washington. In that deal, the 49ers would send Aiyuk and a 2027 sixth-round pick to the Commanders for a 2027 fifth-round pick.<\/p>\n

“Aiyuk is going to have to be realistic about his contract as well\u2014if he gets released, he’s going to get less on the open market than he would on a restructured deal,” Davenport said. “If the parties involved can face those realities, a Washington Commanders team that needs wideout help opposite Terry McLaurin<\/a> makes sense as a trade partner, especially since Aiyuk played with Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels<\/a> at Arizona State.”<\/p>\n

The 49ers would be ecstatic to get that return in that trade, but Washington may be able to get the wideout for free if no other teams are making offers. However, they can make their quarterback happy by making this Day-3 pick swap.<\/p>\n
