As we sit in the slow period of the offseason, interesting names pop up from time to time.<\/p>\n
These are players who could be made available for one reason or another as we prepare for training camp to start. One of these instances occurred this week when NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reported that the Arizona Cardinals have received calls from teams interested in trading for standout defensive end Josh Sweat.<\/p>\n
Who knows if anything will develop here, but if the Cardinals do want to trade Sweat, there should be wide interest around the league. Sweat, 29, has 55 career sacks since 2018. He has a career-high 12 sacks in 2025.<\/p>\n

Sweat has three years remaining in a four-year, $76.4 contract. It is not known if he will be seeking a pay raise if he is traded.<\/p>\n
Could the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> be interested in Sweat?<\/p>\n They just signed Kwity Paye<\/a> to a three-year, $48 million deal and drafted Kenyon Crawford in the third round. Of course, they still have superstar Maxx Crosby<\/a> and Malcolm Koonce<\/a> is on a one-year deal. I\u2019m not so sure the Raiders need a veteran now even though Sweat has been a more dynamic pass-rusher than Paye. But you can only give so many similar players premium contracts.<\/p>\n I\u2019d think, the Raiders may be better suited to make a play for Sweat next offseason depending on how this season plays out than at the moment.
