After the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> won 13 games for the first time since 1999, fans had to watch several big-name players leave in free agency. Both sides of the ball took hits.<\/p>\n

Gone are some of the team\u2019s biggest playmakers from last season, like running back Travis Etienne<\/a> and linebacker Devin Lloyd<\/a>. Jaguars general manager James Gladstone has hyped up the team\u2019s position to likely land a third-round compensatory pick in what\u2019s expected to be a loaded 2027 NFL Draft class, but is this roster positioned to return to the postseason right away?<\/p>\n

One large hole remains at the running back position, where 2025 fourth-round pick Bhayshul Tuten<\/a> is the favorite to start. But a better solution could be available at a relatively low price.<\/p>\n

Recently, Bleacher Report\u2019s Alex Kay<\/a> suggested that the Jaguars should consider trading for Alvin Kamara<\/a> now that the New Orleans Saints<\/a> shelled out $48 million to sign Etienne.<\/p>\n

\u201cA trade for Alvin Kamara would give them a legitimate starter who could keep the club in contention this coming season. Although the Jags declined to issue a pricy free-agent deal to Etienne, they could benefit from the logjam their former back\u2019s addition created in the Big Easy. Kamara no longer makes sense in New Orleans<\/a> due to his combination of age, salary and projected role within the offense, but he\u2019d be a great pickup for Jacksonville for these same reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jaguars could likely add Kamara for a Day 3 selection, helping the Saints move off his $10.4 million cap hit for 2026. Plus, Kamara would likely welcome an opportunity to start rather than be the backup in New Orleans again.<\/p>\n
