Patterson signed with the Jaguars<\/a> after going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\nPatterson spent his whole five-year collegiate career with the UTPB Falcons. He finished second all-time for career receiving yards, recording 1,774.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust to make this lifelong dream even obtainable and I\u2019m just so thankful for my time in Odessa and I feel like it\u2019s helped prepare and get me ready just to grow here in Jacksonville,\u201d Patterson said.<\/p>\n
The Jaguars added a unique player to the wide receiver room. <\/p>\n
At 6\u20325\u2033, Patterson is the tallest listed receiver by three inches. He is fast for his size, running a 4.45 40-yard dash.<\/p>\n
He joins an organization that is coming off of a very good 2025 season, winning the AFC South with a 13-4 record. <\/p>\n
Jacksonville lost to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round.<\/p>\n
The team also boasts a strong offense. The Jaguars gained the 11th most yards in the NFL in 2025, the 12th most passing yards, and the 6th best scoring offense.<\/p>\n
Patterson said he\u2019s learning a lot from Jaguars wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett.<\/p>\n
\u201cCoach EB [Edgar Bennett], he\u2019s just been preaching to me about becoming a better routerunner, becoming a better receiver, buying in and being a great blocker– that\u2019s the huge thing– \u2018no block, no rock\u2019, so that\u2019s huge,\u201d Patterson said, \u201cI just want to come into the receiver room and I\u2019m just being a sponge, soaking up everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
Patterson is also eagar to learn from the receivers that led the way in 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got some great talented receivers here, so I just pick up from whatever I can, whatever tidbits they have for me,\u201d Patterson said, \u201cI just soak up everything I can, and just try to become a better receiver, and from that point on, whatever the team needs from me, that\u2019s what I\u2019m willing to do– whether it\u2019s being a beast on special teams, giving a great look [in practice], being a great receiver. I just want to be the best in whatever my role is.\u201d<\/p>\n
Patterson will continue to work through the rest of OTAs, taking place until June 17. He hopes to make the final 53-man roster at the end of preseason.<\/p>\n
