Crisis averted, Miami Dolphins<\/a> fans. <\/p>\n

Let this serve as our latest reminder to take deep breath and slow down. Yesterday\u2019s minicamp reports had a discouraging update \u2014\u00a0offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer was assisted off the practice field on a cart<\/a>. The cart is a dreaded omen of bad news in the NFL. But not always. And especially in the summer months. Head coach Jeff Hafley gave us an update this morning on Salyer\u2019s status. And the cart, it turns out, was much ado about nothing. <\/p>\n

\u201c(Salyer) is doing okay. I don\u2019t think you\u2019ll see him out there today. But I do not think it will be anything long-term\u2026we have one more week to go (before the break) so there\u2019s a good possibility that \u2014\u00a0I wouldn\u2019t say \u2018good\u2019, I would say there is a possibility that he\u2019ll be out next week but maybe not.\u201d <\/p>\n

Never trust a June \u2018cart\u2019 report. Sometimes, the news is very bad. But many times, the cart gets broken out as a matter of convenience and to aid the player as much as possible. There have been instances of players getting carted off and then practicing the following day before. It doesn\u2019t sound like Salyer is that lucky. But it does sound like any of the worst case scenarios that imaginations conceived yesterday have also been avoided. And, accordingly, a key depth piece of the Miami Dolphins\u2019 offensive line should (hopefully) be back soon before long. Crisis averted, indeed. <\/p>\n
