With the Indianapolis Colts’ <\/a>entire 2026 NFL draft class now under contract, where does the team stand salary cap-wise at this stage of the offseason?<\/p>\n

With these rookie contracts now accounted for, Over the Cap<\/a> has the Colts<\/a> with $31.665 million in available cap space. That is the seventh-highest total in football.<\/p>\n

Although the Colts made big offseason deals, signing Daniel Jones<\/a> and Alec Pierce<\/a>, those cap hits in 2026 are relatively light and increase in the coming years. The Colts also have minimal dead cap and created a good amount of space by moving on from Zaire Franklin<\/a> and Michael Pittman<\/a>, all of which helped their overall cap situation.<\/p>\n

If GM Chris Ballard were to want to make any additions to the roster, he has more than enough cap space to do so, especially since no free agent signing at this stage of the offseason is going to break the bank.<\/p>\n

Defensive end is one position in particular where making another signing would make sense.<\/p>\n

That said, while there are some routine cap expenses to come down the road, more than likely, the bulk of what is available now will remain throughout the season. Any unused cap space at the end of the 2026 season can be rolled over into 2027, potentially positioning the Colts quite well next offseason.<\/p>\n
