The Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> had quite the turnaround last season.<\/p>\n

After winning only four games in 2024, the Jaguars<\/a> won 13 games this past year, were AFC South Champions, and hosted a playoff game.<\/p>\n

So, now looking ahead to 2026, how do the Jaguars replicate that success to ensure that what we saw in 2025 becomes the norm and not the outlier?<\/p>\n

“It starts right now,” said Josh Hines-Allen while appearing on the NFL Network. “It starts during OTAs. I think we got a packed house every day. Our guys coming in ready to work, committing to the cause, and we got a lot of competitors. A lot of guys that’s going to come in here and compete every single day. For me, that’s been my whole career. Always been a guy that’s probably been in the shadows but came to work every day to get better. Became a better, complete person for myself, for my teammates, and then you see everybody that we brought in this year and the last, guys are just coming in working every single day.”<\/p>\n

In Year 1, the foundation for the current iteration of the Jaguars under GM James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen was established. But as Coen said<\/a> earlier this offseason, there is no more important year than Year 2.<\/p>\n

To ensure that the Jaguars continue to surge and not go backward, Coen has emphasized the importance of this team continuing to find their edge, along with maintaining a high level of urgency.<\/p>\n

“We finished 13-4 last year, obviously we were in the playoffs, we were champs in our division, but that’s not enough for us,” Hines-Allen added. “We want more, but it’s not going to happen overnight and we know that as a team. You look at our schedule right here, a lot of primetime games, a lot of games that are very important to us and that’s starting with Cleveland. So that’s our mentality. We’re prepaing for OTAs No. 7 on Tuesday and that’s kind of what we’re focusing on and that’s what coach Liam has instilled in us — every day is important and don’t miss any opportunities.”<\/p>\n

The Jaguars’ offseason has been criticized<\/a> by the outside world, but a large portion of the roster from 2025 is back this season, while the continuity of being in the same system for a second offseason can provide both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball with a jumping-off point.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"June 4, 2026, 8:33 p.m. ET The Jacksonville Jaguars had quite the turnaround last season.
