We\u2019ll\u00a0hit the final OTA open to the media on Tuesday, with plenty to keep an eye on in this practice.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0learned plenty to this point, with a lot more to figure out during training\u00a0camp deeper into the summer.<\/p>\n

Here are a few names to watch as we work through the offseason program:<\/p>\n
Rachaad White catching passes<\/p>\n
We\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0have a firm grasp on the state of the\u00a0Commanders\u00a0running game until the pads come on, but we can catch glimpses of how they work out of the backfield as pass catching\u00a0options. Free-agent signing Rachaad White is a good one, someone with a solid\u00a0track\u00a0record\u00a0as a receiver.<\/p>\n
He had 50 catches for\u00a0290 yards\u00a0and two touchdowns last season, but\u00a0he had 64 catches for\u00a0549 yards\u00a0and three scores<\/a>\u00a0the year before.\u00a0There\u2019s potential here, especially with Bill Croskey-Merritt not expected to be an active part of the passing game.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n And, during a time without contact, running back evaluation is best kept to the passing game. This is where White can shine and earn a defined role in a crowded backfield with Croskey-Merritt and rookie Kaytron Allen, among\u00a0others.<\/p>\n While\u00a0will be a weapon as a runner and\u00a0passer, but\u00a0could really be an asset as a third-down back.\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0something worth watching at this stage of the offseason program.<\/p>\n luke mccaffrey commander<\/p>\n Luke McCaffrey and the WR2 battle<\/p>\n There\u2019s\u00a0a fair assumption that the Commanders will add another receiver to the roster before we start playing for keeps. General manager Adam Peters\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0said so directly, though the assumption (right or\u00a0nah) is that\u00a0Brandon Aiyuk will be a Commander \u2014 he sure seems to want that<\/a> \u2014 when\/if the San Francisco 49ers release him. Or Washington could sign DMV guy and\u00a0steady producer Stefon Diggs<\/a>, though\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0on the market and has been for some time.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n There are athletes vying for the spot opposite Terry McLaurin right\u00a0now, with former first-round pick Treylon Burks and this year\u2019s third-round pick Antonio Williams vying for regular duty.<\/p>\n There are options at that spot but also think about the slot, where receiving talent will be\u00a0required. Fans are bullish on Luke McCaffrey,\u00a0who shined at times<\/a>\u00a0and can be a positive contributor. Can Dyami Brown be better\u00a0in his second Commanders stint<\/a>?\u00a0And then there\u2019s Jaylin Lane, a 2025 fourth-round pick looking to prove himself.
