We continue the series by discussing David Onyemata.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Projected Role: Rotational defensive lineman<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">His 2025: Onyemata once again gave the Falcons solid if unflashy play as an interior defensive lineman. He played the run well, and while he ended the season with only one sack he wasn\u2019t a total black hole as a pass rusher. He showed the ability to chip in the occasional pressure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">2026 will be a success if: Onyemata gives the Jets around 20-30 quality snaps per game in a rotational role. We have a tendency to call the signing of any non-starter a \u201cdepth\u201d move, but that isn\u2019t always accurate. The goal of an actual depth signing is to find a player who can be counted on to provide quality snaps if either the starter needs a break, or injuries reshuffle the lineup. Age is always going to be a concern with a player who will turn 34 in season, but his track record suggests that Onyemata should be a quality depth lineman for the Jets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Odds of making the roster: Lock (&gt;99%)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Through the spring and summer, we will be counting down the Jets roster player by player.
