The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to explore trade options with OT Wanya Morris, according to a report from ESPN\u2019s Jeremy Fowler. <\/p>\n

Morris, a former third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma, appears to be on the outside looking in for the Chiefs in 2026. This news comes after reports that second-year OT Esa Pole<\/a> and rookie OT Kahlil Benson<\/a> have taken first- and second-team repetitions at right tackle during OTAs and mandatory minicamp. <\/p>\n

Morris has appeared in 42 career games for Kansas City with 16 starts. He\u2019s played the majority of his offensive snaps at left tackle, with over 1,000 career snaps. <\/p>\n

The perfect trade partner may already exist, and the Chiefs have already done a deal with them this offseason. <\/p>\n

Rams starting LT Alaric Jackson was recently arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery<\/a>, suddenly exposing an already-thin Los Angeles offensive tackle room. It\u2019s unclear if the NFL will suspend him or put him on the Commissioner\u2019s exempt list. However, LA now has a need for contingencies. <\/p>\n

Morris could fit that need with experience at both left and right tackle. He hasn\u2019t been a superstar during his time in Kansas City, but working with a new coaching staff could be exactly what he needs to unlock his potential. <\/p>\n

Chiefs GM Brett Veach and Rams GM Les Snead just completed a March blockbuster trade that sent Trent McDuffie to Los Angeles<\/a>, returning multiple draft picks to Kansas City. <\/p>\n

What would a deal for Morris look like? He\u2019s on an expiring contract and would cost the Chiefs roughly $226K in dead money to move, with $1.4 million in cap savings. The minimum you\u2019d likely fetch is a late Day 3 pick in 2027 or 2028. The Rams seem comfortable trading away picks, so that\u2019s the likely target if you\u2019re doing a deal with Los Angeles. If you\u2019re looking into the player-for-player market, perhaps you can swap him for another player on an expiring contract. That might be a tougher sell for Kansas City after a quick look at the Rams\u2019 roster<\/a>. <\/p>\n
