The Indianapolis Colts have placed safety Reuben Lowery III on the Reserve\/Retired list.<\/p>\n

The Colts<\/a> claimed the\u00a0defensive back off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens<\/a> last season.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old played in 46 college career games (29 starts) at Tennessee-Chattanooga (2020-24) and compiled 166 tackles (109 solo), 19.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, 15 passes defensed and three interceptions (two returned for touchdowns).<\/p>\n

Lowery, a 5-9, 204 pounds free safety, also earned four Academic All-SoCon honors from 2021-24. As a senior, he was named first-team All-SoCon after starting 11 games and producing 62 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, six passes defensed, and two interceptions.<\/p>\n

He signed with the Ravens after going undrafted out of Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2025.<\/p>\n

Lowery went on to play in three games with one start for the Ravens and recorded five tackles after making the initial 53-man roster out of training camp.<\/p>\n

He was claimed by Indianapolis off waivers from Baltimore on October 13, 2025 but did not play for the Colts.<\/p>\n

Now, the versatile DB has decided to hang up his cleats with no reason given by the Colts.<\/p>\n

However, being placed on the Reserve\/Retired list in the NFL<\/a> means a player has chosen to retire before their contract expires.<\/p>\n

The move removes Lowery from their 90-man roster and the team will hold onto Lowery\u2019s rights in the event he decides to one day come out of retirement and returns to the league.<\/p>\n

Lowery is the latest youngster to call quits on his NFL career.<\/p>\n

Recently, Chicago Bears <\/a>rookie wide receiver Squirrel White decided to retire after just 16 days in the league<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Tennessee and Florida State wideout went undrafted in the 2026\u00a0NFL Draft<\/a>, but was signed by the\u00a0Bears\u00a0<\/a>on April 25.<\/p>\n

After attending rookie minicamp, though, it was announced on that the 22-year-old had decided to hang up his cleats for good, thus forgoing the chance to earn a spot on an\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0roster.<\/p>\n

White’s retirement appears injury-related. According to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin,\u00a0he exited the practice field during stretch<\/a>\u00a0at the Walter Payton Center, while the Chicago Tribune’s Sean Hammond reported that\u00a0White was seen limping off the practice fields<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Miami Dolphins<\/a> rookie Le\u2019Veon Moss\u00a0called time on his young career<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old running back arrived to Miamia as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M and was thought to have potential as a playmaker.<\/p>\n

However, his time with the Aggies was blighted by injury, and in May, Moss called time on his\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0career with no reason given for his departure.<\/p>\n
