{"id":922769,"date":"2026-06-19T03:42:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T03:42:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/922769\/"},"modified":"2026-06-19T03:42:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T03:42:20","slug":"giants-cam-skattebo-plans-to-keep-running-people-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/922769\/","title":{"rendered":"Giants&#8217; Cam Skattebo plans to keep &#8216;running people over&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cam Skattebo is not planning to tone it down.<\/p>\n<p>The Giants running back is <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/08\/sports\/cam-skattebo-takes-first-big-step-as-giants-camp-looms\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">working his way<\/a> back from the gruesome dislocated ankle that ended his rookie season, but he made it clear this week that the injury will not change the physical style that made him stand out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt ain\u2019t gonna change who I am,\u201d Skattebo said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/giants-cam-skattebo-won-t-alter-approach-after-injury-i-m-going-to-get-back-to-running-people-over\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Wednesday on \u201cThe Insiders.<\/a>\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had an injury, you know, it is what it is. I\u2019ve still got plenty of football left, plenty of life left, I\u2019m not going to let this little ankle thing bother me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then came the line Giants fans will like most.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to get back [to] running people over like you see on the videos,\u201d Skattebo said. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be normal Cam Skattebo from here on out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Giants running back Cam Skattebo said he does not intend to change his hard-nosed style as he recovers from a gruesome ankle injury. Charles Wenzelberg \/ New York Post<\/p>\n<p>Skattebo quickly became a fan favorite as a fourth-round rookie in 2025, bringing a bruising, contact-heavy style to the Giants\u2019 backfield before <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/26\/sports\/cam-skattebo-suffers-horrifying-leg-injury-that-shocked-giants-teammates\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">his season was cut short in Week 8<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He finished with 617 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns before the ankle injury ended his year.<\/p>\n<p>Skattebo took part in limited 11-on-11 drills during the Giants\u2019 mandatory minicamp last week.. Charles Wenzelberg\/New York Post<\/p>\n<p>His comments made it even clearer.<\/p>\n<p>Skattebo has said he expects to be ready for Week 1, and his return could give the Giants another physical option in a backfield that also includes Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>With the Giants entering their first season under head coach John Harbaugh, Skattebo\u2019s hard-nosed style could give the offense a different edge if he returns to full strength.<\/p>\n<p>For now, the message from Skattebo is simple.<\/p>\n<p>The ankle injury may have ended his rookie season.<\/p>\n<p>It did not change the way he plans to play.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Cam Skattebo is not planning to tone it down.
