The Minnesota Vikings have been focused on getting their front office in order, after hiring<\/a> new general manager Nolan Teasley<\/a> a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n When he arrived at TCO Performance Center in Eagan, Teasley\u2019s first moves were to surround himself at the top of the pecking order with people he trusts and\/or has familiarity with.<\/p>\n Those hires included two new assistant GMs<\/a>, Andrew Healy<\/a> and Trent Kirchner<\/a>, who were reportedly brought in to split duties with current assistant general manager, Ryan Grigson, who\u2019s been with the organization since 2022.<\/p>\n A former general manager in his own right (2012-2016 Colts), Grigson was originally brought in<\/a> four years ago as a \u201cSenior vice president of player personnel\u201d, where he worked closely with<\/a> newly hired Vikings GM, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ryan Grigson leaving the Minnesota Vikings<\/p>\n Last offseason, Grigson was promoted<\/a> to assistant general manager. On Wednesday, however, Inside The League\u2019s Neil Stratton started poking around for answers after noticing that Ryan Grigson was no longer listed on the Minnesota Vikings official website.<\/p>\n Ryan Grigson no longer appears on the #Vikings<\/a> website. We’re told he’s leaving his post as Assistant GM in Minnesota for a new opportunity. After ESPN\u2019s Kevin Seifert<\/a> caught wind of the team\u2019s website change, he did some of his own digging and found out that Grigson is, in-fact, leaving under his own accord\u2026 kind of.<\/p>\n Nolan Teasley asked Grigson to take a demotion<\/p>\n Per Seifert, when Teasley arrived the Minnesota Vikings went to Ryan Grigson with two options. A) He could stay on staff and take a demotion, under new leadership. Or\u2026 (B) he could leave. To nobody\u2019s surprise, he chose Option B.<\/p>\n Ryan Grigson was given an opportunity to remain on new Vikings GM Nolan Teasley\u2019s staff, with a different title, as previously reported. As Neil said, Grigson has in fact decided to depart and pursue a new job with another team. https:\/\/t.co\/UItAksTb1E<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Kevin Seifert (@SeifertESPN) June 24, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n Related: MN Vikings Training Camp Report Dates Revealed<\/a><\/p>\n We don\u2019t know where he is heading yet, but Grigson is reportedly leaving or a different executive position elsewhere.<\/p>\n An 11-5 season in his first year as GM of the Indianapolis Colts earned<\/a> Ryan Grigson a PFWA Executive of the Year award back in 2012, over John Elway. In fact, Indy went to the playoffs in three of his five seasons in-charge.<\/p>\n However, Grigson\u2019s career has been stained<\/a> by his inability to build a decent offensive line to protect Andrew Luck, eventually leading to the superstar quarterback\u2019s early retirement and Grigson being fired in 2016.<\/p>\n More about Ryan Grigson<\/p>\n Now, he is on to yet another chapter in his NFL story, which goes all the way back to 1995<\/a> when he was drafted in the 6th round out of Purdue by the Cincinnati Bengals.<\/p>\n While he lasted just one season as a player, and had about the same success with coaching from 1998-1999, Grigson found his calling as a football executive.<\/p>\n He started as a pro scout in the Canadian Football League in 1998, but quickly moved to the NFL. His first job in the big show was with the St. Louis Rams in 1999. The rest\u2026 is league history.
